| Prepped plane for maximum gross
weight flight, take-off and landing testing. I used bags of concrete to bring the plane to it's maximum gross of 2000lbs. I secured the bags into place in the passenger seat and baggage area. During this flight I tested for stalls in all configurations. Vso = 64kts. An interesting note about stalls in this airplane; I found with full flaps, 55deg, the plane stalls at 67kts. Reducing the flaps to 45deg brings the stall speed down to 64kts. To conclude the flight I tested for take-off and landing performance. It's difficult to see the difference with this plane at this weight. It handles very good and take-off performance is only affected by just over 100 feet at standard temperature. Landings with the new Matco brakes are unchanged. |
