Some time back there was a discussion regarding in line thermostats donners. While looking for a thermostat inlet at the auto graveyard I discovered the complete thermostat housing for my inline engine thermostat. The 91 Justy 4WD GL 3 cy inline MPFI engine had an in line thermostat bolted to the lower side of the block. This unit has an inlet manifold and separate outlet manifold both made of steal with 1 inch od steel tubing welded or brazed (one of each) to the bolting flange. The thermostat housing splits in the middle to replace the thermostat. There is a bypass outlet on the inlet side separate from the manifold inlets for the heater or warm up. To remove the unit quickly I sawed the steal outlet tub in two. This alowed the removal of the unit without repositioning loose the engine to unbolt the other end. A hose clamp and bolt removal completed the extraction. With a hacksaw I cut off the mounting flange that bolted it to the engine and filled the edges. I reoriented the tubing to obtain the exact housing I was about to build. Ron Hoyt no expire
