Welcome to AirSIG (Aircraft Special Interest Group)! Dedicated to discussion of Experimental Aircraft Engines (primarily Subaru's at the moment) How Do I Post To This List? --------------------------- Send An Email TO: airsig@interstice.com How To Get Off This List: ------------------------- Send An Email TO: majordomo@interstice.com with the body of the message reading: unsubscribe airsig How To Join This List: ---------------------- Send An Email TO: majordomo@interstice.com with the body of the message reading: subscribe airsig Membership is by-invitation-only. To be "invited", you must either be recommended by another member, and send us a "Letter of Introduction" to the above address, explaining your interest in AirSIG topics (at the moment, eXperimental aircraft engines, focusing on, but not exclusively, Subaru engines), or be recommended by one of the list founders, in which case the "Letter" isn't really needed, except you should post one to the list to introduce yourself. If you neither know anyone on the list nor any of the founders, submit your request and one of the founders will sponsor you after reading your intro. Note: most former AirSoob members are grandfather'd in, so the letter of introduction isn't necessary in this case. Please direct any problems TO: garfield@pilgrimhouse.com How to use the DropBox (and what it is): ---------------------------------------- The DropBox is an FTP site where you can find or put your drawings, pictures, or large text files (like the All-in-One AirSIG running Archive). The DropBox can be accessed by pointing your Web Browser (Netscape, I hope) to: ftp.pilgrimhouse.com/pub/DropBox/ (note: case-sensitive) The files can be viewed by just clicking on them; to upload your own submission, just pull down the FILE menu in Netscape, pick Upload File..., browse to your file, and click OK. That's it. As soon as the upload is finished, you should be able to see your new submission. One requirement is to include a fileName.txt file to explain the contents and author of the other file, as well as a reasonable "expire date" so the DropBox can be cleaned up from time to time to reclaim disk room, which IS cost-sensitive. AirSig Web Page: ---------------- Point your Web Browser to: www.pilgrimhouse.com/AirSIG/ for announcements, FAQs, and assembled documents & graphics of a more permanent nature. Some items in the DropBox will naturally migrate from the DropBox to the AirSIG Web Page, as members post items of long-term interest. But do NOT hesitate to post short-term things to the DropBox; the whole idea is make communication instant and easy. Don't worry about whether your submission is "archival value". Even if one other person on the list is helped to visualize something that's difficult in words, the purpose of the DropBox is accomplished. Think of the DropBox as the AirSIG scratchpad.
