Began finish sanding the landing gear legs.  This is in preparation for installing them, hopefully, for the last time. (those famous last words, again...this is the first set I installed)

Mounted gear to fuselage.  Yes, that is a shower curtain rod used as the temporary compression strut.

Rechecked alignment after gear installed. (little did I know that, near the end of this project, I could be considered a professional at this task)

Installed axles, wheels and tires.

Welded tail wheel lock release pin.  Measured, marked and cut tail wheel fairing to begin installation.  Remounted main gear and drilled new "second" hole in upper fuselage sidewall.  Fabricated U-washer for forward tail wheel mounting hole.

Sanded, aligned, taped and applied a two layer laminate to the forward portion of the two tail wheel fairing halves.

Laminated two-layer laminate to inside of upper main gear attach points to cover old holes.  Fabricated spacer for left upper main gear mount to properly position in relation to right main gear.  Measured and ordered all new bolts and nuts for main gear mounts due to difference in thickness of Grove gear.

Trimmed, aligned, trimmed, aligned.... tail wheel fairing.  Drilled holes and installed nut plates for upper 1/2 of tail wheel fairing.

Finished fitting upper portion of tailwheel fairing with trimming for rudder clearance.  Jigged and drilled lower fairing.  Drilled for all nutplates and countersunk nut plate rivet holes. removed all landing gear hardware for powder coating.

Laminated front and rear of lower tailwheel fairing.  Taped upper fairing for preparation of two layer flange laminate.

Laminated 2-layer reinforcements at each bolt location on both tail wheel fairings.

Installed main gear and compression strut.

Installed tail wheel parts.
