Started sanding trailing edge of lower wing skins to straighten and remove mold lines.  Ordered resin from SH and registered as the official owner of #446.

Completed sanding lower trailing edges and confirmed equal tip chord length.  Started sanding upper trailing edges to remove mold lines and straighten.

Stopped sanding upper trailing edges when they looked real close to the lowers and the chord lengths at the tips matched.  Cleaned garage.   I still will need to sand closer when ailerons and flaps are fabricated.

Installed 1"x 3" molding on edge to back of wing jig.  Used 2, 8' sections of 1"x 1"x 1/16" aluminum angle and 10 3" c-clamps to straighten lower trailing edge.  I decided I will need 2 more sections of angle and at least 4 more clamps to complete this part.  My wife helped to place chalk lines for the rear spar shear-web on the lower spar cap.

Cut two rear spar shear webs from foam.  Bonded pieces end to end to make 11' sections.  Now waiting for resin.  Sanded shear web bonding area on lower spar cap.

Cut and drilled 2 control stick swivel arms (k-10 and 1 control stick sleeve (k-5).  Also cut 2 small tubes (k-4) for control stick swivel.  Filed all edges smooth.

Sanded rear spar foam to proper height and applied q-cell.  After it cured, I applied the inside rear spar laminates.

Drew lines for cutting out seat pan holes.  Marked locations of ribs in lower wing panels.  Sanded rear spar to proper height and alignment for aileron and flap opening.

Pieces of 9# foam, for strengthening wing walk area, arrived today along with fuel flapper valves and saw blade. New fuel baffle design and placement instructions for GII were included as requested.  Removed lower skin of upper panel in wing step area and ground foam out.  Sanded and prepped both openings for 2-layer BID.

Upon further consultation with the Glasair News list, I removed all remaining q-cell in both wing step cutouts.

Layed up 1st layer of BID in each wing walk area against upper skin.

Layed up 2nd and 3rd layer of BID in each wing step area.  Waited 12 hours between each layer to try to prevent extreme shrinkage.

Bonded in 9# foam with q-cell over 3-layer BID in left wing step area.

Bonded in 9# foam to right wing step area.  Laid up single layer UNI over foam on left wing step per old newsletter.

Laid up 1 layer of UNI over right wing step area. Laid up 1 layer BID over left wing step to complete left side wing step update.

Laid up 1 layer of BID over right wing step are to finish right side.
